Hi, I’m Kelly! I’m documentary and candid wedding photographer based in Weymouth, Dorset, and I love capturing weddings the way they really happen; full of laughter, love, and those fleeting, authentic moments. I cover weddings across Dorset, Somerset, Devon, Wiltshire, and Hampshire, helping couples like you enjoy a relaxed, stress-free day while I photograph every candid memory.

ABOUT MY STYLE:

I specialise in candid and documentary wedding photography, meaning I focus on the real, unscripted moments that make your day unique.

What is documentary/candid photography?

Many of us, myself included, do not like being in front of the camera. This is where documentary photography fits in. Candid, documentary or visual story telling photography means photographs are captured as the day unfolds. It is about capturing the rawness, vulnerability, and the joy in its natural state. Personally, I believe these moments are precious, as they can not be captured again. The moment is fleeting..

So how does it work?

On the whole I will follow you around and photograph every authentic, natural interaction, the environment, those candid moments you probably won't even remember. Some call me a photographic ninja! I photograph the quiet moments between the big ones; a glance, fingers interlocking, a brush of the hair, a laugh, a tear. These are what truly tell the story, your story. I quietly observe, and anticipate poetry in motion. My goal, for you to relive your wedding when you look back at the photos.

But what about for those moments such as couple photographs or family shoots? For specific photographs such as these, I can, if wanted, give prompts to illicit movements, connections, interaction and usually natural smiles, laughter, hugs and kisses follow. So if you hate being in front of the camera, feel uncomfortable being posed and want authentical meaningful photographs- we may be a good fit! You do have the option of going 100% documentary; with no input from me at all!

Group photos?

As mentioned, I am not a posing photographer, however, I am happy to accommodate a few informal group shots (5-10) as I understand how important these are. I am happy to orchestrate your groups together, and take a photo, but if you are looking for lots of traditional, posed shots then I am probably not the photographer for you.

I am an inclusive photographer, if you want your photographs taken, love having fun then I will shoot it!
